This 4,000 square foot Upper West Side residence required a fully reimagined space for a young family of four. Since the completion of this project before the start of the academic year was a top priority for the client, Michilli adopted its retail schedule approach to deliver a fully customized home with modern amenities and design features. The earth tones of the herringbone wide plank wood floor serve as an anchor for the neutral color palette found throughout the space, creating a warm contemporary look that is cozy and inviting. The Rise Projects LLC team added a double-sided fireplace, the focal point of the great room, by using Calacatta marble in an unconventional manner that makes it appear to hover above the chimney breast. The design's understated elegance speaks to the client's attitude, while the layout of space establishes a true family home that children can grow into, one that can host big and small gatherings and serve as a respite from the city.
