At 22 Little West 12th St., a 3,500 square foot space houses one of the world’s leading sneaker stores: Sneakersnstuff. The brand originated in Stockholm but the inspiration behind it came while founders Erik Fagerlind and Peter Jansson were visiting New York City. Their American Dream manifests itself in their first New York location, which was designed by Swedish Architect Jenny Askenfors and made by Michilli Inc. Materials used are iconic to the Big Apple, such as brick, iron, glass, neon, acrylic, mirrors, concrete, and green copper. The boutique captures the city’s urban ruggedness –a Brooklyn Bridge inspired cash wrap, crushed car display, graffiti inspired paint work- while still paying tribute to the brand’s Swedish heritage. The crushed car, for example, is a Volvo Amazon. Every single detail was carefully thought out to create a space that embodies Sneakersnstuff’s effortless cool and approachability.
