Description

The John Hardy Flagship in SoHo was designed to be a multi-sensory aesthetic experience inspired by the brand’s Ubud workshop in Bali, Indonesia. Ketra lighting systems are installed in recessed portions of the ceiling, and was specially formulated to mimic the Balinese sunrise and sunset. Materials used were natural or locally sourced in keeping with John Hardy’s commitment to sustainability. Custom designed millwork makes use of black walnut and hammered gold inlays. Meanwhile, teak root art pieces are found at the store’s hanging freely at the entryway or mounted over hammered brass at the store’s innermost wall. The second floor serves as an “Artisan-in-Residence” space, where clients can further personalize their pieces or to simply bear witness to the brand’s signature eight-step jewelry making process.
