LocationSoho, New York
Renovation work conducted for Muji’s SoHo flagship involved expanding the retail area by over 2,500 SF, storefront upgrades, and extensive interior work. This was an 8,422 square foot project split between 2 floors that abided by a 14 week construction schedule. During this time we gutted and renovated the entire 1st floor, installing specialized birch oak flooring, metal ceiling tiles, and metal or brick wall finishes. The basement was converted from storage to retail space to expand the sales area, which included installing an ardex floor finish in the cellar. The furnish and install of a grand staircase with glass panels, emergency stairs, and an elevator was included in our scope of work. New portals and structural steel framing were created to accommodate these new additions. The feature stair is particularly notable due to the two-story owner supplied millwork bridge installed by the portal. All new HVAC units and upgraded lighting systems with Juno fixtures were conducted, as was the upgrading of the water heating system.
