In 2018, the first-ever Gabriela Hearst retail outpost opened its New York flagship at 985 Madison Avenue, next to the iconic Carlyle Hotel. Spanning 1,550 square feet, the space harmoniously blends Hearst’s refined taste with a steadfast commitment to sustainability. Completed in a swift three months, the project maintained a sustainability focus, recycling the majority of waste materials during demolition. Zari Architect’s design featured untreated and sustainable materials like reclaimed oak and natural marble. The energy-efficient lighting system automatically dims when inactive, showcasing Hearst’s distinctive aesthetic and unwavering dedication to environmental sustainability.
