The SneakersNStuff flagship on Venice Beach is the brand’s second #MichilliMade boutique, opened in time for their 20th Anniversary and utilizes the same location-based design strategy as their New York flagship, built in the Meatpacking District of New York City. A few project highlights are the boardwalk Souvenir Shop inspired portion of the retail area, artist commissioned sculptures, and bespoke millwork. A few of the commissioned pieces are the blue and white Nike Cortez pinata, Christer Björkman sneaker wood carvings that top of the pillars, and Mander leather tables. Additional pieces include the Muscle Beach inspired barbell & dumbbell display stands, and large curved tables with legs that mimic gondola poles, representing the winding canals in Venice. Our scope of work included creating poured concrete flooring upon which we installed a custom floor logo with shells picked from the beach. The signage sitting atop the store’s bright turquoise façade was custom-made to emulate those of the surrounding stores -further incorporating the location into the SNS DNA.
