Atmosphere ArchitectsDescription
Céline retail spaces now boast “expansive sculptural interiors” designed by the brand’s creative director. The re-vamp of the Wooster Street location has been decked out with reflective fixtures and feature a site-specific artwork. The grey basalt has been applied to the floors and the space features structural columns that seem to burst through the ceiling and reclaimed oakwood. Pieces have also been displayed inside glass boxes or hung from one of the rectangular black frames that are suspended above. The ceilings have been clad with panels of veiny black marble in the fitting room areas. Polished stainless steel was used to craft horizontal shelves that line the peripheral walls and low-lying plinths, which have been fitted with LEDs so as to appear to hover above the ground.
