dY-O architecture officeDescription
Isabel Marant has opened a stunning new flagship on Madison Avenue in New York City. The brand’s largest brick-and-mortar to date spans 3,000 square feet set over two floors. Designed by Marant and an in-house architecture studio, the flagship effortlessly blends the Parisian house’s signature seventies references with Manhattan’s industrial-chic aesthetic. Wall art installations, sculptures, and custom-made furniture by local designers and artisans add pops of color to the primarily neutral space. The building’s west façade features engraved concrete panels in addition to two large window displays. Creating a visual sense of continuity, inside is a concrete floor with accents of natural stones and terracotta tiles. An eclectic mix of statement furniture and custom shelving extends throughout the space, echoing the brand’s artful sophistication. Artist Arnold Goron designed the store’s centerpiece: a futuristic, bright pink table alongside an impressive metal sculpture that spans the full height of the sales area on both levels.
