Gucci backs Dapper Dan’s by-appointment only atelier located in Lenox Avenue. The studio merges elements of Gucci’s Italian heritage with Dapper Dan’s Harlem roots. Original architectural elements of the brownstone building are preserved, and the yellow used in Dan’s former boutique is incorporated into the new design. Romanesque tin tile plates are installed on the ceiling, injecting classic New York influence to the atelier. Meanwhile, the Italian brand’s iconic Cherry Red walls and tufted velvet panels are present, along with other opulent elements ranging from bespoke Boiserie wall molding to thick Oriental carpets.
